The Carneros region is as authentic as those who live and work here. The Carneros Wine Alliance has created “The Voices of Carneros” to allow locals to share their insight and knowledge of Carneros, including secret spots in the region. “The Voices of Carneros” is published regularly on the alliance website and across all social media outlets.

Root: |
Winemaker at Cuvaison Estate Wines, which consists of two brands; Cuvaison, our Carneros Estate Vineyard, primarily Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, and Brandlin, our Mount Veeder Estate, where we specialize in Bordeaux varieties. |
My Carneros: |
My first full-time job out of UC Davis was in Carneros, at Saintsbury, where my job interview consisted of one question: Baseball or Football? SF Giants, baby and I’ve been working in Carneros ever since. I joined Cuvaison in 2002 and oversee our Estate Vineyard and the Cuvaison wines which are all derived from this single vineyard I enjoy a commanding view of Milliken Peak, rising above the di Rosa and walk the vineyard daily with my two Dalmatians, Pixie and Buster. |
Fun Fact: |
We grow 5 acres of Sauvignon Musqué on our vineyard and I’m beyond convinced it’s one of the best places for Sauvignon Blanc in the State. You get a very tart, mineral driven wine that explodes with flavor. |
Secret Spot: |
Not so secret, the Oyster Po Boy at Fremont diner, or if I’m out on the bike, Ernie’s Tin Bar at Lakeville Highway and Stage Gulch Road (just beyond the west edge of Carneros) has killer beers on draft, inside an old auto shop. |
